My future job
- What kind of job would you like to have? How do you imagine it?
I would like to work in many things, one of them is like a magazine journalist, because I love to write, make articles, chronicles, and interviews, and meet new people. I imagine myself like a real journalist, with a lot of papers, with many reunions and a delicious coffee in my hand and in the other my vaper.
Also, I would like to work like a writter, and like a barista, actually I been writing a small book, and I will try to take in the summer a barista class, for learn how to make filters, and how to toasted the coffee, and beautiful latte art.
- Outdoors /indoors?
I like both, but honestly I need work in both enviroments, because I boring with easiness. That's one of the reasons why I study journalism, because I can learn, write or work in everything, and I love that, because I can be a international correspondent, be part of the comunicacional advisory of a minister, be a locutor in a radio or in a tv programme, be a documentalist, be a teacher or an academic, or work in a newspaper. Is like the sentence of Barbie: "Be whatever you want to be".
- Would you like to travel a lot in your job?
I don't know, because I like the stability, but I also like travel, maybe I will prefer stay in Santiago, only for convenience, beacuse I know how this city works, the language not change, and the places I like are here, like the coffee shops, the museums, the antiques shops, and other stuff.
- What about the salary?
I think every person who study jounalism knows this career is for die of hunger, because the mass media pay us a mucus for our work, and is a reality, maybe this job is for a true lovers of journalism, and if you are study journalism for the salary, sorry darling, but better you start to find other career.
- What major are you studying / are you thinking of taking? Explain why.
This year I started to specialize in Culture and Society and Tendency, and I realesed that I love write and learn about this. Last semester I made a big reportage for Cultural Journalism about Mapuche poetry, and I could publish it in El Mostrador, in that moment I fell so fucking good, because I never thought that I can really publish in the press before I have mi title. For that I think I would like to take a major in etchnical studies, because I love this topic, and I will write a reportage of the indigenous genocide in our country during the Military Dictatorship.

You are a great great writer! I loved your text about Mapuche poetry. I hope you can write a book someday. I would be the first to buy it. <3 <3
ResponderEliminarI enjoy stability too! It's cool to travel, but I think it can turn into a sickening routine if you do it a lot for your job :(
